One of the most common questions that patients ask that if they have PCOS can they become pregnant. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common diseases which affects nearly 20 to 25% of the women who are in the reproductive age group.
PCOS is a disorder caused by an imbalance in the hormones in the brain and ovaries of women. PCOS develops when a hormone called LH or Luteinizing hormone (from the pituitary gland) or levels of insulin (from the pancreas) become high, which then causes the ovaries to make extra amounts of testosterone or male sex hormone that is responsible for facial hair in men apart from other functions.
